PIONEER FIELDNOTES / Access & release

ArcheAge Chronicles Price and Buy-to-Play Model

Check the ArcheAge Chronicles buy-to-play model, announced prices and monetization plans, and understand why a free demo does not make the full game free.

    AT A GLANCE

The demo is free; the full game is not listed as free, but no numeric price, edition or regional currency is published. Coverage of XLGAMES’ plan describes Early Access as a one-time purchase with no cash shop at the start; Steam says full-release pricing may change.

Has the full-game price been announced?

No numeric PC or console price, edition tier, currency table or preorder package is listed on the official Steam page as of 21 October 2026. Steam’s product data marks the full game as not free; this does not reveal its eventual price. Treat third-party key prices and speculative “packs” as unofficial until the publisher posts an actual offer.

    Free demo versus paid game

The current Steam Next Fest demo is free and requires no application. That event price applies to the demo only. It does not make the full game free-to-play.

    Early Access and later monetization

MMOHuts’ coverage of the developer interview reports a buy-to-play Early Access plan with no cash shop at the start; it says a cash shop is expected with the full release. Steam’s Early Access answers separately say the price may change at 1.0 to reflect added content and improvements. These are plans, not a final price list or a guarantee about every future item.
