ArcheAge Chronicles Mage: Role, Weapons and Combat

Explore the ArcheAge Chronicles Mage role, supported spell and weapon options, and the place of elemental attacks and control in its combat style.

    AT A GLANCE

Mage has two documented weapon identities: Elemental Staff for charged fire/lightning spells and Wavesword for close-range magic-blade combat. Its profile emphasizes charge control and elemental gauges, not a confirmed healer role.

    Elemental Staff and Wavesword

The official Mage profile names Elemental Staff and Wavesword. The Staff keeps the Mage at range with elemental incantations; Wavesword brings the character into close combat with an energy blade and ice attacks. XLGAMES has not described Mage as a dedicated healer in the class materials checked.

    Charge, control and elemental pressure

Elemental Staff abilities build fire or lightning pressure. Its Retain mechanic can preserve a charge so the next spell can be released immediately at a higher level. Skills such as Wall of Fire and Lightning Storm build Burn or Shock gauges. Wavesword shifts the combat distance and includes defensive or anti-interruption effects in the profile.

    Build scope and current limits

The current Early Access listing confirms two weapons for each class, matching the two documented Mage paths. The profile is not a full current-build spellbook, and the official roadmap treats a third weapon for each class as a later addition. No official healing rotation or class ranking is published.
